A weekend in Rock.
From the rear of Speedwell, you could see across the Camel River
to Padstow.
St. Enodoc's church was buried in sand until it was
rescued and restored. John Betjeman is buried here. In the background is the Camel Estuary.
It was a miserable drizzly day as we approached Polzeath on the
coast path.
An interesting bit of rock.
An interesting bit of rock with grass on it.
Simon on the edge of a precipitous drop.
Looking roughly WSW over the dog legged entrance to Boscastle harbour. In heavy weather it must be reasonably well sheltered.
A dory type boat entering the harbour at speed.
Same boat passes the last breakwater at a more sedate pace.
Looking East inside the inner breakwater.
Elevated view of the inner harbour looking back towards the village and the YHA, which is located next to the slip. It's rather shallow so only shoal draft cruisers could attempt it.
Brody and Anna sharing the chocolates.
The gang enjoying fish and chips on the Padstow quayside. Just like
proper grockles :)
Plate of chips on her knees and sun on her face. Bliss!
A windswept-ice-cream-eating moment.
Looking out of the Camel Estuary from the Padstow - Rock ferry.
Having travelled on many ferries, the ferryman on this particular ferry wins
the prize for the surliest of them all.
See that man in the blue coat with the white beard? He's not very
happy with his job.
